No 3 February 19 Edition
Hello All Croc Supporters
Well only 9 weeks till we start round 1 on Saturday 13th April at Trinity Beach.
This will be followed on the following Friday 19th April – being Good Friday which will be the day we unfurl our 2018 Premiership Flag.
Pre-season training is back in full swing – numbers on track have been reasonable – each session sees more players ready for a gruelling season. With the unpredictable weather, training has mainly seen the guys hit the road or workouts in the gym – recruits have started to arrive. I want to mention that the Club will shortly be opening the bar for ‘Thirsty Thursdays’ – need to replenish our fluids in these humid weeks!!
Practice Games Can confirm that we are playing Manunda Hawks at Cazalys on Friday 22nd March at 6.15pm under lights and hosting a practice game at Port Douglas on Saturday 30th March 2pm against South Cairns Cutters…, Saturday 6th April will see an intra Club game at Croc Pit.
Crocs Ladies Twilight Sail – on Friday 5th April we are inviting as many (female) supporters for a twilight sail on board Aquarius – about 90 minute cruise – BYO. Simply visit dedicated Facebook page – Crocs Ladies Twilight Sail to book.
This is another innovative idea of the Crocs and Lisa Russell is kindly co-ordinating this event… Please visit Facebook site – Crocs Ladies Twilight Sail! I know bookings are going very well, so hurry to book and avoid missing this event.
Still sourcing vouchers – to be used at our many fund raising events and raffles, in addition to being used on a weekly basis for player awards. If you know of any local business that would like to contribute with some vouchers please get in contact with me.
30th Anniversary – things are progressing well – already a golf day has been scheduled and will be teeing off at Sheraton Mirage, includes complimentary 6 pack of ale to reduce dehydration on the fairways.
Volunteers – if you can spare 30 minutes a season or 2 hours every fortnight, the Club DEFINETELY wants to hear from you – please make contact with a Committee Member to express your interest.
New Board Member for 2019 Welcome Matt Williams from the Port Douglas Stationery Hub as our newest team member – Matt has extensive experience and knowledge of country sporting clubs in particular helping with our Trainers within the footy dept. – Thank you Matt, we appreciate your time and support.
